I remembered when I was starting out making wine at home, it wasn’t the most easy thing to do. At that time, we want have the experience of making wine but was not prepared to put out too much money into buying wine making kits. Why we liked it
- The step by step instruction are very easy to follow. However, we initially thought that this had all the equipment that we need. Mistake! It only contains the ingredients as well as the corks and label for the wine bottles. You still need to buy wine making equipment such as air locks, hydrometer, fermenter etc. Fortunately, these can be easily purchased from amazon as well.
- The taste is acceptable for the price. Don’t expect high grade wine but the quality is similar to what you will drink table wine at a typical French restaurant. We followed the advice of others and added only 5 galleons of water, rather than the six as advised by the instructions on the package.
- The labels look really professional and nicely designed. I have no problems showing my home made wine to our guests. They were all rather surprised when we revealed that the wine was made with a home wine making kit : )
Why it can improved on
- Nothing much really to complaint about. As a wine making kit for beginners, this product does its job nicely. Maybe they could have bundled more tools in the package to make it easier for people who have no time to shop for the other wine equipment that is needed.
